Cola War

There exist a “Cola War” between two rivalries “Coke” and “Pepsi”. Both are worldwide famous soft drinks companies.

John Stith Pemberton created Coke’s original recipe in 1886. Asa Griggs Candler founded The Coca-Cola Company in 1896, and then two years later Caleb Bradham introduced Pepsi and founded Pepsi-Cola. The Cold War between the two companies begins here.

Modern advertising techniques and strategies helped both brands become popular among people. Both brands were working harder to increase sales and earn profit.

But in 1923, after World War 2, Pepsi went bankrupt and the same thing happened again in 1931 but because of having well strategies, it recovers from all of these circumstances. Also, on the other hand, Coke also faces some challenges. In 1985, Coke introduces new formula for their soft drink but unfortunately, people don’t like the taste of it, and thus after a few months, the company bring back the previous formula under the name “Coca-Cola Classic”.

In order to gain sympathy from their customers, Pepsi uses great marketing strategies. Additionally, in 1975 Pepsi introduced a challenge called “Pepsi Challenge” in which they ask ordinary people to reveal which is better Coke or Pepsi, and the majority prefer Pepsi to Coke. Due to this, both rivalries began making ads against each other and the cola war intensified.

The cola war is a nonstop war and is still now occurring between both rivalries Coke and Pepsi and will continue until people’s taste changes and they reject one of these two flour.

Although both the brands are in conflict with one another but still, there is a positive impact in our society. Both the soft drinks are struggling to make innovation in them and also the peoples get benefits from them that they get more and more tasty flavors. So, in this way, we can say that cola war has somehow had a positive impact on our society.
